Hello Class,

I can't believe that I am going to be coming home soon. I hope that your spring break was wonderful. Cici and Ms. Usrey had their spring break and went to Paris France to visit for the weekend. Everything was blooming and this was our favorite picture. I hope you like just as much as we do.
We took the Eurostar from London to Paris. The train took us underneath the English Channel it was really cool to think that we went underwater in a train. Below is Cici and her ticket on the train.

Once we got to Paris we went to Dinner and walked to the Eiffel tower at night. It was really cool to see the Eiffel Tower all lit up at night. We started Thursday by going to the Louvre and seeing wonderful paintings and sculptures. We also got lost inside the Museum. I even got to see the Mona Lisa. After lunch we went to a fashion musuem and the Arc de Triomphe before finishing the night off with a wonderful dinner and great company.

We enjoyed seeing Paris and I think Cici and Ms. Usrey would like to go back one day soon. We also decided to walk to the top of the Eiffel tower at night. We climbed 670 Stairs. Then an elevator took us to the very top level. It was so pretty from the top.

Krakow Poland

Hello Class,

Cici and Ms. Usrey just got back to Harlaxton from Krakow, Poland. Krakow was a wonderful city and it was really nice to visit. We went to Auschwitz and Birkenau. Auschwitz and Birkenau was a place where many people died. There once was a man who didn't like certain groups of people so he sent them to different places to live rather than them living in their own homes. They died because they where different. This man was not a very nice man. We had a great time learning about the history there and what happened to the people there. It was a wonderful experience. We also spent time in the city center or Krakow. There is a big Flee market that we
walked through and saw all of the items for sale. We also had traditional Polish food. It was really yummy and Cici and Ms. Usrey really enjoyed trying new food and drinks. We had a great time. Enjoy these pictures :)

Hello Ms. Usrey's Class

This weekend I stayed at Harlaxton and did some traveling to London. We also cooked for our host family. We had a wonderful meal that my host sister and I cooked a meal for them. We cooked tater-tot casserole, pineapple souffle and green beans. It was very yummy and Mrs. Usrey gave me the recipe for the tater-tot casserole.

Oxford, Bath and Stonehenge

Hello Class,

It has been another exciting weekend at Harlaxton manor. This weekend included a trip to Oxford, Bath and Stonehenge. Cici and Ms. Usrey where worried that the weather was going to be icky, but we got lucky and had great weather the whole weekend. It was a wonderful weekend and we loved every moment of it. Our first stop was Oxford. It is a town that has a University (Like the one Ms. Usrey goes to). It also had a bunch of different museums. Our first stop was the Ashmolean Museum. It was like the British Museum except way smaller. It had a bunch of different artifacts inside. We saw mummies to roman sculptures. I really enjoyed it. Our next stop was one of the colleges at Oxford. It is called Christ Church Cathedral. It is famous because a lot of writers studied at the school, and some scenes from Harry Potter where shot at the School. It was a great place to see. We also had lunch in a park. It was very pretty and a really nice day to be walking around.

Our next stop on the trip was the City of Bath. Bath was built by the Romans. It has a natural spring that heats the water. So the Roman citizens used it as a hot tub. They swam in the pool. Cici and Ms.
Usrey did not swim in the water because we where not allowed to. Another person that is from Bath is the author Jane Austen. She lived in Bath and wrote novels about Bath. We toured on
e of her houses that she lived in at the time. It was a really cool place to see. We also went to the Royal Crescent which is a row of houses that is in a semi-circle. It was very impressive to see. The abbey in Bath was also very amazing to look at. It had lots of stain glass and beautiful arches. Also on Saturday Morning we took a small trip to Glastonbury. It has the Ruins of an Abbey and a hill called the Tor. The Tor was very steep to walk up but we made it to the top and the view was breath taking. The Abbey was destroyed by Henry VIII. It also has the tomb of the legendary King Arthur and his Queen Guinevere. We had fun walking around the Abbey ruins, it was really pretty. We enjoyed Bath a lot.

Our final stop was Stonehenge. It was super cool to see rocks just standing with out any support. There where a bunch of people also looking at the Stonehenge. It was built around 3000 BC (it is really really old). We had fun walking around a looking a different angles. Enjoy!

Cici and Ms. Usrey will be home in less than 2 months. Time really goes by quickly and we can't wait to see every single one of you! See you soon

Ireland (and snow)

Hello Class,

Cici and Ms. Usrey had a wonderful time in Dublin and Ireland. We toured Dublin and then took a day trip to Blarney Castle and a few other small towns. We had a great time. In Dublin we went to a bunch of different places. We went to Trinity College, a cathedral and did some shopping. It was a lot of fun. On our tour to Blarney Castle we stopped at some cute little towns and had lunch and looked at the ocean. It was really pretty there. We also went to a Leprechaun Museum in Dublin before we left. We got to be Leprechauns inside the Museum. I kept my eyes out for any that I could catch so I Could have a wish but we didn't see any. Oh well :( We had wonderful time and I think that Cici would love to go back. Cici and Ms. Usrey also took a field trip for school. We went to the City of Lincoln and learned about the history there. It was really cool. We went to a castle and a cathedral and walked around the city. It was a lot of fun. Also it SNOWED in England. It was very pretty so I took pictures of it, and we hope that you like it too! The next trip that we are taking goes to Oxford (a famous college), Bath ( a Roman city) and Stonehenge (a place with tall rocks). Be on the lookout for pictures, but for now enjoy these pictures :)

Scotland

Hello Class,

Cici and I just got back from Scotland. It is a wonderful place and we had a great time traveling around Edinburgh. We went to a lot of different places. Edinburgh castle was Cici's favorite and Ms. Usrey like Greyfriars bobby. Before we left for Scotland we had a night to celebrate a famous poet and we both tried Haggis. It is yummy and made from some interesting things :) We then left on a tour bus to go to Scotland. It was a 7 hour trip but worth every single minute on the bus. We then got to Edinburgh and toured the city as the sun was setting it was really pretty. The next day is when we did all of our sightseeing. The castle was up first. We then went to a cathedral, a museum, greyfriars bobby, the North Sea, and Scott Monument. Enjoy looking at the pictures

Welcome to Scotland

Edinburgh Castle

St. Giles Cathedral
this is Greyfriars Bobby. This statue is tells the story of a dog who was very loyal to his owner. Legend says that when this dogs owner died, the dog stood guard over his owners grave every day and night until the dog passed away as well. A monument had been constructed to honor this very special dog. It was Ms. Usrey's favorite spot.

York and it's Just and Adventure

Hello,

It's been another weekend, so more traveling for Cici and Ms. Usrey, this weekend we went to York. York is a wonderful town that has a lot of history. My friend Ms. Hays and I were the only ones who went to York in our group. We did a lot of deciding where to go was just a spur of the moment decision. The fist place that we stopped was Clifford Tower. It was really cool to see so much history in one place. The tower was built by Normans. We then just walked around York to Betty's Tea Cafe. It is the place to have English Tea. It was amazing. Cici love the tea. We then walked around to the Shambles which is just a bunch of small shops. We then went to the Minster. We climbed 275 stairs to get to the top. It was a lot of stairs, but the view was amazing. we then just walked around the Minster. We had some time left so we went to a Viking Museum. Cici had her picture taken with a Viking. Overall we had a wonderful day.
